Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site

Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site

559 Chebucto St, Baddeck, NS B0E 1B0, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

You'll find the site on the shores of the Bras d'Or Lakes overlooking Baddeck Bay and Kidston Island. The stunning grounds are open and inviting, making it a popular spot to picnic and fly kites. Look southeast and you'll spot the Baddeck harbourfront, boardwalk and wharf. From the site's roof-top deck, you can see the headlands of Beinn Bhreagh, Bell's beloved summer home where many scientific inventions and explorations took flight.

Expect to feel instantly at home with the landscape, as Bell did when he arrived in 1885 and established his summer refuge. So compelled was Bell by Cape Breton's beauty he believed the area out-rivaled any other place in his global travels.

The life of Alexander Graham Bell, or rather a huge chunk of it, can be found at this museum. Who would have thought that he was such an incredible creator, with such a vivid imagination! Some of his most creative inventions are displayed and if it was not for time constraint, we would have spend much more time there.
