So many plants under one roof. It's crazy to think that some of these wouldn't otherwise be seen together or in the area at all.

Alan Gardens is one of my favourite places in Toronto's east downtown. This Victorian greenhouse is an excellent place to go to during the winter, as it is 30 degrees year round. There are many different species of plants, as well as a lovely family of turtles. They've been known to escape at night, so you will often see workers moving the turtles back to their pond so they aren't eaten by racoons.

Allan Gardens is a great place to take a walk and smell the roses (and herbs and 100s of other plant species...and some soil too) in downtown Toronto.
A great little greenhouse!

Allan Gardens is a park with a large conservatory. The Toronto Horticultural Society, founded in 1834, was a group of local and traveling members who initiated gardening and botanical projects in the city of Toronto. Their purpose was to grow a variety of plant species from around the world in order to educate the public in horticulture. The City of Toronto, Parks and Recreation Division, has taken on the responsibility of preserving natural environments and horticulture.
