Green Gables Heritage Place is where you can experience the life of the fictional character of Anne of Green Gables, one of Canada’s most notable stories. Although the story was set in fictional Avonlea, Cavendish is home to the farmhouse that inspired the books, as well as the forests and ponds that inspired places in the novels. Today, Lucy Maud Montgomery’s characters have inspired the creation of the entire village of Avonlea, where tourists can interact with the characters from Avonlea, dress like Anne, and even try some of her favourite raspberry cordial!
