My favourite aspect about the Assiniboine Park Zoo is their conservation effort for polar bears.

Plan the whole day - but start early! During the summer it gets hot, so make sure you go early to see the polar bears who are active when the sun isn't so bad. Other animals come out through the day, and if you're lucky you'll be able to time your visit to see everyone!

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is incredible and the polar bears are the best! This was actually taken a few years before my granddaughter got to go to Churchill to see the bears in their natural habitat. It was the zoo that got her interest peaked

The new additions are really neat to see and I like knowing improvements like these are getting made!

It can be quite expensive, but if you go at the right time (ie, not extremely busy times) then it's totally worth it.

In the summer of 2015, about thirty youth around Canada arrived in the humble city of Winnipeg. We participated in a French language immersion program, and we visited the Assiniboine Park Zoo one hot afternoon. This new, award-winning exhibit, called Journey to Churchill, displays the playful polar bears, and encourages reflection about climate change through its thought provoking interactive centres and architecture.

My favorite aspect about the zoo is being able to see all the families come visit for either the same or a very similar reason. They come to see the animals that the zoo may showcase, and it's something that not everyone could experience.
