Acts as the governing body for the city by means of debating and passing by laws and resolutions and appropriating funds:
Duties carried out through the Mayor and 6 councillors
Mayor and Council members also serve on various other boards/committees
Meeting agendas and minutes are generally available online for viewing
Oversees the administration of the Clerk's department and services
Manages all corporate records and policies and procedures
Maintains the books, records and accounts of City Council
Advises Council regarding legal requirements
Provides information to the public regarding the policies and procedures
Facilitates death registrations and certificates
Issues marriage licenses, marriage certificates and conducts civil marriages
Maintains and updates property management records
Administers Provincial Offences and Bylaw Enforcement
