Edmonton's City Hall is directly adjacent to Churchill Square, and the two of them combined provide a space for a large majority of Edmonton's Festivals. It's a cultural hub for all Edmontonians, and a popular visiting spot in the summer because you'll never know exactly what it is you can find there! Just last year, I was in Downtown running an errand when I stumbled upon the Cariwest Festival. You never know what you can find here, but it's always fun!

This picture should remind Canadians to be humble, a trait that is quickly being eroded by the younger generations (I am one). We are a largely a resource based economy. We didn't create the oil and minerals that lead to our affluence. These resources are finite and can be replaced by different technologies. It's time younger Canadians stop complaining and start acting, our lifestyles come at a cost.

The Labour Day long weekend has traditionally been the Edmonton Symphony's season kick-off, usually held in William Hawrelak Park. This season was a little different; the orchestra set up for a free concert in the city's downtown core: Churchill Square. More people than imaginable showed up on this opening night that featured music from Disney classics. The final count: over 12,000 people. In previous years, Edmonton has held the "Cultural Capital of Canada" title, and this is just one example of why. Presenting a concert like this should be inspirational to all of us; it's amazing how one free event can bring so much joy and so many people together (really squished together). In addition to the thousands of people in this photo, it also captures 2 of Canada's great architectural masterpieces: Edmonton City Hall and The Art Gallery of Alberta.

Edmonton City Hall
This place makes me feel such a strong sense of belonging with no cost. I never have a dull moment at the events that go on here. For example ; Canada Day at City Hall makes me feel so proud of my nation, and all the people that gather here on Remembrance Day to honour those who served for our country brings joy to my eyes. Also, i never fail to attend the New Years Eve Celebration, which has fireworks, activities, music and more. Everything i love.
Furthermore, Edmonton City Hall portrays Multiculturalism with celebrations for cultural backgrounds.
For example Cariwest, for Caribbeans to celebrate. I get to know a lot about their culture, and dance until my feet fall off. Furthermore, the Celebrating Our Faith event that goes on to celebrate the incredible diversity of faith traditions in Edmonton,like Buddhist,Christian,Muslim and more.
Edmonton City Hall is just one of the places that i go to feel a sense of belonging, and to get inspired. However, there's many more. I've visited a few other locations in Canada that have given me this exact same feeling. Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Banff National Park, The Legislature, etc. These places make me so proud to live in Canada. It's amazing how i feel so connected, even i'm not in my own city\province. It surely proves that everywhere i go in Canada, i can call it home. I'm so proud to be a Canadain, and thankful for the country i live in.

I am a South Asian. I have friends that have been to the Edmonton Mall and they have told me how people from all the communities go there. It's place everybody can be regardless of their background.

Edmonton's City Hall is the home of the municipal government of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Designed by Dub Architects, the building was completed in 1992. It was built to replace the former city hall after it had become outdated and expensive to operate.
