In the heart of the Yoho National Park is Emerald Lake, named for its jade-coloured waters. Legendary wilderness guide Tom Wilson discovered this hidden gem in 1882, while preparing for the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Today, the region is one of North America’s most incredible and accessible wilderness destinations. This timber lodge houses massive stone fireplaces, an elegant dining room, a number of quiet sitting rooms, conference facilities, and even an oak bar that was salvaged from a Yukon saloon built in the 1890’s! There are only a couple places in Canada where one can feel this humbled by nature in such a luxurious setting.
