Flavelle House contains the law faculty's principal classrooms, faculty and student common rooms, the Rosalie Silberman Abella Moot Court, as well as the Bora Laskin Law Library. The building was constructed in 1902 as the private residence of Sir Joseph Flavelle, and was left to the University of Toronto upon his death in 1939.

    My favorite feature at Flavelle House, is the intricately carved wooden fireplace. It adds to the setting of the building and is quite pleasing to look at. Also you can tell that the carvings must have taken quite a long time and that there was a lot of care put in to them. What makes this fireplace my favorite is that the words "Two things stand like stone: Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in your own." are carved right into the mantelpiece and I honestly really love that quote, because it is something everyone should remember throughout there entire lives. Overall I enjoyed my visit and the surrounding features at Flavelle House.
