The Garden of the Provinces and Territories might be one of the Capital’s best-kept secrets. Created to celebrate Canada’s centennial in 1967, the park’s concrete terraces highlight the flags and floral emblems of the provinces and territories. Feeling thoughtful? Two fountains, representing the Great Lakes and Canada’s vast forests, provide moments for quiet introspection. Or contemplate the infinite in the sine wave loop of Chung Hung’s Twelve Points in a Classical Balance on the park’s lower lawn.
