This was our first stop on the western Canada trip with my 80 year old parents. We arrived in Vancouver and off we went in the tiny ferry to Granville Island. A beautiful sunny day to visit the market and restaurants on the island.

I love the atmosphere here, artsy and fun. So much going on and so many cute little shops, although it can be a little pricey. The public market is so delicious, literally ANYTHING there is worth it!

A small island that was once dirty and oily has become a representation of Canadian rejuvenation. Granville Island has transitioned from an industrial park to a flourishing and unique community. What I love about Granville Island is the eclectic mix of open markets and small artisan shops. The beauty of this small island is the diversity and complexity it offers visitors. Granville Island, much like Canada, is a place where unique ideas and people can coexist to create something bigger than any one person could dream of. Granville Island reminds me that my nation is one of multiculturalism that celebrates everyones differences.

I was walking along my favourite path in False Creek and came upon a beautiful reflective image, with my new city in the background. It made me grateful to be here.

Go to the tea place. Their chai is perfect. You also have to go to the kids place. It'll make you feel like a child again.

Granville Island is definitely a must see when in Vancouver! I live in Vancouver and always have a great time at Granville Island. I love the different live music acts around and also the cute little coffee shops. I also love the backstage lounge for a drink later on.
