The Halifax Oval is one of the things that makes the long winters in Halifax a little bit more bearable, and even enjoyable. The Oval is an open skating rink found in the Halifax Commons at the centre of the city, beside Citadel Hill. In the winter you can borrow skates and rentals free of charge, and in the summer you can borrow skate boards, roller blades and scooters! No matter what the season, you'll find people of all ages enjoying the outdoors and each other's company.
