Historic District of Old Québec

Historic District of Old Québec

The Historic District of Old Québec, a UNESCO world heritage treasure, is alive with history.

Moving from military history to religious history, take in the stunning Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica-Cathedral, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Jesuits Chapel, and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

After stopping off at one of the city's many museums and interpretation centers, take a walking tour or a horse-drawn carriage ride to get a true feel for this unique historic district.

Fine dining and shopping are an art form in Old Québec, particularly along rue Saint-Jean and rue Saint-Louis, where European charm adds a dash of flair to any outing.

This is a favourite part of Quebec. It is so beautiful and it's really neat to walk through all the old buildings.

I have travelled a lot in my life and I have never seen another place exactly like the historic district of Quebec City. I don't know what it is really, whether its the beautiful old buildings, the view of the Saint Lawrence or the cafés on every street corner. Its probably a combination of all that and more. All I know is that this part of a vibrant city is not to be missed whenever visitors come to Quebec.

Walking down the breathtaking streets of Old Quebec you will feel a sense of awe and wonder. These streets make you feel like you are in a new country with all the history and beauty surrounding you. You are immediately immersed in the culture the moment you start walking. You may stop and watch a magician performing a trick, listen to a song being played on guitar, or talk to artist responsible for the beautiful picture. The streets give you a sense of belonging as everyone is overly kind helpful and excited that you can witness the beauty that they live in everyday. The calm and relaxing atmosphere gives you an escape from your normally busy lives and gives you the time to think reflect on yourself and the life you want to live. You will create memories that will last forever as you are indulging in a culture that is like no other.
