Malpeque Bay

Malpeque Bay Lot 18, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Malpeque Bay is an impressive natural region that is within the Anne of Green Gables touring area of Prince Edward Island. The bay itself is home to a number of communities, like Summerside, but is more known for its world famous oysters. The bay is also a protected wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention signed in 1988, which recognizes the bay’s impressive natural barrier at the Gulf of the St. Lawrence, and the various creeks that add freshwater to this natural lagoon.

Malpeque oysters are like none other - but so are the people in this area! What a beautiful location. It can be a bit chilly in the fall, but I imagine it is very peaceful in the winter and temperature in the summer!
