Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada is a small, Wild West themed village nestled deep within the Coastal Mountain ranges of the Canadian Pacific Ocean, with striking views of Mount Currie, which is just to the South. Pemberton has a population of approximately 2500 people and in the past was built on logging, with a few families farming potatoes hence the Nickname “Spud Valley”. It serves as a bedroom community for Whistler, BC, which lies to the South on Highway 99, and relies on tourism dollars. Until the early 1960s when Highway 99 was built, Pemberton was only accessible by train. This helped the logging industry and in turn opened the back country up via Forest service roads. Pemberton is known as the "Seed Potato Capital of the World", and due to its production of virus free seed potatoes.
