Guestbook Fort York Grounds

In the 7th grade, my grade was blessed with the opportunity to visit Fort York. We had learned all about the war of 1812 during the school year, and even read the book Bully Boys. This helped us get a general understanding of the scenarios occurring during that time. However, learning about Fort York and different battlegrounds was nothing compared to visiting it. We saw how the brave men of the grounds dressed, how they lived and how they trained. We got to visit where they slept, the museum located inside, their weapons, cannons and so much more! We learned about how they would react and adapt to different situations and how hard life was for these brave men. We learned about their triumphs and struggles, and most importantly we learned to appreciate what they had done for us. It truly changed how we saw our nation and taught us that we needed to respect and appreciate everything we have. The trip to Fort York was truly an inspirational and educational experience for all!
