Summer Hours (until September 4): Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Free Open Lates - Thursday 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday 12 - 5 p.m. September 6 - November 26: Thursday & Friday 12 - 4 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Holiday Hours: December 10 & 11, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Museum is closed on Mondays and holidays.

The Pump House Steam Museum is located in one of Canada’s oldest original water works – where steam-powered pumps provided the first running water to Kingston residents from 1851. Only six similar preserved water pumping stations remain in North America.

The museum’s most incredible artifact is the museum itself – where the original pumps are animated and visitors can discover exactly how they worked. Guided or self-guided tours show how steam power was an essential element of the industrial development of Canada and pumped water played a key role in Kingston’s history.
