African Lion Safari is a family-owned safari park situated in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) west of Toronto. Though situated in Hamilton city limits, it is located near Cambridge, Ontario. It includes more than 1,000 animals, representing over 100 species of mammals and birds from across the globe. Guests may tour seven game reserves (with a total area of about 740 acres (300 hectares)) traversed via tour buses or the visitors' own vehicles where animals roam freely in large contained areas. Accompanying the game reserves is a large walking section where hundreds of exotic birds and primates, as well as the park's herd of Asian elephants, are on display.

Growing up in Burlington, this was a frequent family outing. During my summer working in the Burlington Tourist booth, this was our most frequent request for information and I could give directions on a map, upside down, with my eyes closed. It was fun to visit years later with my husband and stepson - still hoping the monkeys wouldn't wreck our windshield wipers!

This is a great play to take a day trip. The whole family will love it, you can drive your own car or take the bus.

I loved visiting this place as a kid - I always thought it was incredible to be able to drive through and be close to so many magnificent animals I would never otherwise be able to see. My favourite section was always the baboons, it was so fun when they climbed on our car.

Brought my brother here for his birthday, he loves animals and had the time of his life with the monkeys jumping on our car and being so close to the animals.

I remember the really long drives as a kid it would take to get here, but it was always worth it. Nice environment and really cool animals!
