My best memories of Alderney Landing are the shows that were performed on the stage during Canada Day. There was a nice crowd, food and great music. Many local artists were present and it was very festive. The surrounding is also very nice for a stroll. That's also where we get to take the ferry to Halifax. Such a great way of seeing both waterfronts and so much more fun than crossing the bridge!

I was born and raised in Halifax. It is where my family hails from; where I learned how to ride a bike, swim a lap, and drive a car. I have grown here; fell in love here; felt every great pain here. This city has nurtured me and watched me turn into the person I am today. Halifax is my home, and will always be the most beautiful place on earth to me.
Alderney Landing specifically holds so much meaning to me. It is where I was taken by my grandfather every Saturday morning as a little kid, walking through the farmer's market; trying empanadas, kale and leek sausages, and lobster poutine; buying oddities like jean skirt handbags and jewellery boxes handcrafted by a woman with arthritis. It is where my sister and I would play at the park, being obnoxiously loud on the playground and climbing the walls of the Peace Pavilion. I had my first real date there, and we ate fries and walked along the boardwalk and took the ferry two or three times each way. When the world is caving in and I can't take anything else, I drive to the parking lot and stare at the harbour until the waves calm my heartbeat and they're in rhythm again.
Alderney Landing is awe-inspiring to all. The building housing so much culture and life is incredible in itself, let along the harbour carrying so many ships each day, and the space provided for all walks of life. I cannot think of a better photo to submit. It captures the true aspect of the city, and the way of life we live in the Atlantic provinces.
Alderney Landing is a convention centre, art gallery, market, and theatre facility in Downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It was opened in May, 1999. The theatre hosts many concerts, conventions and other events, and was the home of the Eastern Front Theatre.
