The Calgary Zoo is one of the largest and most visited zoos in Canada. Containing over 30 hectares of interactive exhibits, event spaces, research facilities, and wildlife habitats, the Calgary Zoo truly has something for everyone. Over 700 animals representing approximately 120 species call the zoo home.

The Calgary Zoo is committed to conservation activities, made evident by it's award-winning Centre for Conservation Research. The Centre is an internationally recognized leader in its field, most notably in the area of successfully re-introducing extinct species into the wild.

    I am always impressed with the Calgary Zoo. My favourite part the last time I went was the Albino Black Bear, or I think they called it the White Black Bear. Such an anomaly was amazing to see. Although I see many of the animals from the Canadian part of the zoo in the wild, I love how they have created such a beautiful part of the zoo based on these animals home to our country.

    After the flood in 2013 the Calgary Zoo had to remake itself. The penguin exhibit is fantastic and there is a new baby gorilla in March 2016.
