Colborne Lodge

Colborne Lodge

Located at the south end of High Park, Toronto's best known park, Colborne Lodge is the home of the people who founded the public park. Built in 1837 by the owner, John Howard, the Lodge is a rare North American example of Regency picturesque architecture. In addition to founding High Park with his wife Jemima, John made a significant impact on the development of early Toronto.

The grounds surrounding Colborne Lodge retain many of their 19th-century features, including recreations of the Howards' numerous gardens, a Coach House and their nearby tomb.
