Situated under the sway of maple trees in the heart of Toronto is the Cumberland House. The House was named after Fredrick William Cumberland, a dynamic character who was a Canadian engineer, railway manager and political figure.
Cumberland House has been home to University of Toronto law school, business school and U of T Press. Today it houses the Centre for International Experience, which welcomes students from abroad to U of T and sends U of T students out to any of 130-plus world-wide partnerships as representatives. Cumberland House is the stomping ground for students representing over 150 countries. The space is ideal for the cross-pollination of ideas between international and domestic students; each having something to offer the other.
