Dow's Lake is a small manmade lake on the Rideau Canal. In the winter, when everything in Ottawa freezes over, Dow's Lake and the Rideau Canal form the world's longest skating rink and Ottawans and hosts the Winterlude festival.

But there's fun to be had in hot weather too. In the summer, Dow's Lake Pavilion offers kayak, canoe and paddleboat rentals. And in the spring, the adjacent park, Commissioners Park, puts on the annual Canadian Tulip Festival with over 50 varieties and 300,000 tulips in bloom.

    We had a great time at Dow's Lake for the Tulip festival. We ate some delicious beaver tails and enjoyed a nice long paddle boating ride. Everyone was very friendly and the view of the lake from the restaurant was beautiful!
