Esplanade Riel / Provencher Bridge

Esplanade Riel / Provencher Bridge

50 boul. Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba
24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a week

Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge is remarkable from an architectural point of view, and offers a panoramic view of the most impressive attractions of our city. This structure links the poetry of the French Quarter to Winnipeg’s downtown area (over the Historic Red River) , and the enticing charm of The Forks. This bridge retraces the alignment of the original Provencher bridge which connected Provencher Boulevard to Broadway Boulevard, the commercial link between the City of Winnipeg and St. Boniface. Esplanade Riel’s concept is all about a vibrant city proud of its history and heritage and confident in its future.

There are two paths which pedestrians can walk on. One side there is a restaurant. The restaurant is named Mon Ami Louis (a French Canadian restaurant) and the other side is just a pedestrian walk way.

I could always see the top of the bridge from the residence at Saint Boniface where we were staying during the course of our explore program. It's absolutely beautiful and makes for the perfect photo shoot setting
