Mount Allison University has been ranked Canada’s #1 undergraduate university by Maclean’s magazine more times than any other university in the country. But that isn’t the only thing that sets it apart. Students forge a lifelong connection to Mount Allison. They come to love this place as their second home. They become part of a supportive community where their ideas and interests blossom. They form friendships that last a lifetime.

Mount Allison traces its roots to 1839 when Sackville merchant Charles Frederick Allison proposed the creation of a school of elementary and higher learning. The Mount Allison Academy, a school for boys, opened in 1843, followed by the Ladies College in 1854. In fact, in 1875, Annie Lockhart became the first woman in the British Empire to receive a Bachelor degree when she graduates with a Bachelor of Science.

Fast forward almost a hundred and fifty years, Mount Allison's reputation extends well beyond their consistent #1-ranking in Maclean's Magazine. Mount Allison is a prestigious Canadian institution with a long history of providing high-quality education, regarded for its academic programming as well as its extracurricular and experiential learning opportunities. But, most importantly, it has a highly respected reputation for producing graduates who go on to competitive master's and professional programs, and exceptional careers. In point of fact, Mount Allison has produced 53 Rhodes Scholar recipient, the last of the long list being in 2015.

I graduated from Mount Allison in 2013 and I can honestly say the four years I spent in Sackville were some of the best days of my life. As the description of the site above describes, I made some lifetime friends that I would have never met elsewhere. I am so thankful for my short time at MTA, where I studied International Relations and Geography. I loved the courses, the professors, the classmates, the discussions, the swim team, the library...

I could go on. Lovely university, and time well-spent on my part.
