Summer Months: 8AM - 10PM

One of North America’s finest beaches, this park boasts some of the warmest salt water on the East Coast, north of Virginia. You’ll be amazed at the variety of activities offered, including a supervised swimming beach, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, football, a sand-sculpture competition, and daily scheduled sports activities. The park’s seaside campground boasts over 190 campsites on a beautifully-groomed property, not to mention you can also find a variety of shopping centres and boutiques, marinas, restaurants, accommodations, cultural activities, and the world's largest lobster sculpture also located in the nearby town of Shediac.

Parlee Beach is found in eastern Westmorland County fronting the Northumberland Strait in Pointe-du-Chêne, and forming the boundary with the community of Cap-Brulé. The park and beach received its name in 1959 in honour of T. Babbitt Parlee, the former Minister of Municipal Affairs in the ministry of New Brunswick Premier Hugh John Flemming; Parlee having died in an airplane crash in 1957. Today, the property is owned by the Government of New Brunswick and operated by the Department of Tourism and Parks. Each Spring, the provincial government replaces sand on the beach that is lost due to winter storm erosion and storm surge damages. With over 16,000 visitors on weekend days and annual visitation rates of over 400,000 entirely in the Summer months, the park benefits from the large number of tourists and form a summer service centre for numerous cottagers and campers who visit the area.

Growing up in Moncton near Parlee Beach, my favourite days of the summer growing up were spent at Parlee beach. Although I have had many good times playing beach volleyball and jumping off the Pointe-du-Chêne wharf, I would say my favourite thing about Parlee is going in for a swim and sitting on the beautiful sand. I love sunbathing, making sandcastle with the best sand in NB, and going in for a swim only to stay later than expected due to the warm water!
