Garibaldi Provincial Park
Guestbook Wedgmount Lake, Garibaldi Provincial Park - Wedgmount Lake, Garibaldi Provincial ParkWhile this hike is a mere seven kilometers, the elevation gain is 1200 meters, rendering it physically exhausting. This hike was rather difficult for me as I had to drag my tiny, 12 year old body up it. However, the peak of this mountain makes the physical exertion worth it. There is a beautiful glacier overlooking a clear, crystal blue lake. This lake looks untouched, like it could be a large piece of sapphire glass. This among many other hikes, has truly made me feel in touch with my Canadian heritage. The hard work of continuously going up hill, has taught me perseverance. Whereas the beautiful views from above, and the array of nature and wildlife seen whilst hiking has truly made me appreciate the diversity of our ecosystems. Hiking has made me feel truly Canadian and feel in touch with my West Coast heritage. So why not go outside and discover what you can see while exploring our mountain tops?
