Whistler Mountain

Getting off the bus, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had a whole day to kill in Whistler Village as one of the few not skiing. A friend and I decided to go up the mountain on a gondola ride for something to do. But as soon as we got on the mountain, it felt like something had changed. It was breathtaking and I was speechless as I took in our view. Looking at the mountains all around and the village down below I felt so safe and at peace with myself. Even with everyone skiing around, it was still silent and peaceful on the mountain. Seeing these mountains made me so proud to be Canadian and so bewildered that our country can be so vastly different from one end to the other.
