My Sister and I guestBook Guestbook   Mar 4, 2016

This photo is of my sister and I at the starting point of the Rideau Canal Skateway. It was taken the second week of February this year when I visited her in Ottawa during her reading week. She's currently enrolled in Ottawa University. I absolutely love skating and while in Ottawa was able to skate twice on two separate rinks, The Rideau Canal and a little public pond. Skating is so peaceful and reminds me of the beauty of nature. I've visited Ottawa many times. First when my oldest sister attended post-secondary and now my other sister is there. I have many memories in Ottawa hanging out with my sisters and on the Rideau Canal as we always go skating when I visit. It's so peaceful, even with the snow and strong winds.

Sinclair Secondary School - An Equal Place guestBook Guestbook   Mar 18, 2016

I recently finished high school at Sinclair Secondary School at the end of January. In January 2016, Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby, Ontario implemented its first gender neutral washroom for transgender students. While there had been a washroom before this time, it needed a key to be accessed which required students to ask the office secretary for the key to use it. This meant that students had to identify themselves as transgender in order to use a washroom that was implemented to make them feel safe, resulting in them feeling uncomfortable and exposed. The new washroom does not require a key. it is located on the second floor of the school next to the office. The washroom was implemented by the Gay-Straight Alliance Club at Sinclair.
