It was always by far my absolute favourite place to swim. You didn't have to wade in very far before the water was all the way up to your neck, and it never seemed quite as cold as the other beaches. I mostly liked it there because it was a little cove, like a safe haven, and there was no sea weed for anything to hide in. I never had to let the secret fears of what I can't see consume me when all I wanted to do was splash around in the lake. I could last for hours out there in the Bras d'Or Lakes, losing track of time. On a hot summer day, there is no denying where I can find my sweet spot.
