Shediac's Giant Lobster

Shediac's Giant Lobster

229 Main St, Shediac, New Brunswick

Shediac is known as the “Lobster Capital of the World.” In 1989, the Shediac Rotary Club decided to create this 35-feet-long, 16-feet-high, 50-ton Giant Lobster that would promote the town’s lobster fishing and processing industry. The sculpture figures as a focal point at the town’s entrance and attracts about 500,000 people per year!

It would be a joke to go to Shediac and not see THE famous lobster and have your picture taken with it! This is the main attraction in the area and it is an interesting curiosity to see.
