Winter Hours - Oct 15, 2013 to May 16, 2014 - Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. Closed Mondays. Summer Hours - May 17 to Oct 13, 2014 - Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm and open Thursdays until 8 pm. Extended Summer Hours - Sat, June 21 to Sun, Aug 31- Open daily from 10 am to 7 pm & open Thursdays until 8 pm.

Discover Ottawa’s best kept secrets! The story of the BYTOWN MUSEUM begins with the Women’s Canadian Historical Society of Ottawa (WCHSO), founded in 1898 who quickly amassed a collection of artifacts relating to the history of Bytown/Ottawa. In 1917, the BYTOWN MUSEUM opened its doors. Proudly Ottawa’s oldest community museum, the BYTOWN MUSEUM opened its doors in its current home, alongside the Rideau Canal, in June 1952.
