I love Canada's government buildings - they just don't build like this any more. We were fortunate to be staying very close to the Legislature so we returned to see it lit up at night.

The first thing that struck me when I visited the Legislative Building is the architecture. Not because it was a historical building, but more for the fact that it was very similar to the ones in the Prairies. The site is beautiful and it's right by the Royal BC Museum, the Empress Hotel and many other monuments of historical values.
La première chose qui m'a frappée en visitant le Parlement repose sur son architecture. Non pas pour sa valeur historique, sinon du fait qu'il ressemble à ceux que l'on retrouve dans les Prairies. Le site est jolie et il se trouve juste à côté du Musée royale de la Colombie-Britannique, de l'Hôtel Empress et d'autres monuments historiques.

this building is beautiful. I never got to go inside but the fountain and the grounds are gorgeous
The Legislative buildings in Victoria are the home of British Columbia's provincial government. The building opened on February 10, 1898. Elected members of the Legislative Assembly work here, but so do youth: British Columbia's Youth Parliament has official access to the Legislative Chambers.
