Nestled in the center of Rockcliffe Park this magnificent pond, made up of soft sand and sedimentary rock, brings joy to everyone who knows of its existence. Its vast expanse provides a beautiful and communal swimming pool, lined with trees that blossom and bloom adding an air of peace and serenity to the scenery. Many people come to use the pond for swimming, picnics, art inspiration and yoga. Even though the outlining area of the pond is thin and not very spacious it is never crowded and people seem to have a joyful air when entering this haven. It is a wonderful place to be calm and to reconnect with yourself and nature. The pond is truly one of Ottawa’s hidden oases which bring much joy to all of its visitors.

Mont-Tremblant National Park
Toit-des Laurentides Guestbook Feb 1, 2015After an exhausting hike of 6 hours, up and down many mountains, you arrive at the top of the Mount Johansen at 595 meters. This 14 km hike brings you to the summit of the path Toit-des Laurentides to enjoy a breathtaking view of rolling mountains as far as the eye can see. To add to this beautiful landscape the clouds overhead cast shadows on the mountains and everything below appears minuscule. This striking view gives the hikers a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment once at the top. Because of the high altitude it is considerably cooler at the peak, refreshing you from the long hike. This said you cannot stay very long without getting a bit cold.
