  the ski runs are so long you can ski for 30 minutes to an hour leisurely before having to take the gondola up again. It is magical here. The snow is phenomenal. The views breathtaking.

  I have been up the mountain only in the summer to hike. Took the chair lift up to hike the paths was one of the best days ever. The clouds were out that day was walking in them was crazy

  It was a picture postcard day - sunshine and blue skies. We got some amazing pictures going up the cable car and enjoyed our lunch at the top. Of course, we did the required pictures with the Inukshuk!

  Whistler is located in the spectacular Coast Mountains of British Columbia just two hours north of Vancouver. It is the home of Canada's favorite and my favorite year-round destination. From the scenic, snow capped mountains that create a carpet of snow to ski on in the winter to the rugged groomed dirt bike trails in the summer. The numerous activities make it a place created for everyone in my family. It has the shaped the adventurous identity that I live by. I go there faithfully every summer and do not want to leave each time. When you stand at the peak of Whistler mountain beside the inukshuk, with the clean, crisp air blowing at your face, you really feel you are at the top of Canada. With all Whistler has to offer at your feet. Below the sheer sloped mountain lies the heart of Whistler, Whistler village. It is a vibrant base for spending the night, shopping or simply just hanging-out. Whistler is the home of nature lovers with its evergreen canopy above, to the diversified wildlife that inhabits it. Whistler's preserved history and culture lies in the hands of the Squamish Lil'wat people that are known for their marvelous wood carvings and traditional dances. They presented their culture to the world at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games with the famous logo of the Inukshuk and their dances as preformed at the opening ceremonies. This connected me to the culture of my "the best place on earth" in my home and native land. From below the Inukshuk to the green forested areas, Whistler is my home.

• The Most Exciting Time I've Had as a Canadian

  When I stand in front of the Olympic rings in Whistler village, I am overwhelmed with a sense of belonging. The Vancouver 2010 Olympics brought us together as a country; I could see that much, even though I was only in the 7th grade at the time. My teachers set up our own mini-Olympics at school. Everywhere you looked there were swarms of red mittens and scarves, and it became a trend to clip the stuffed Olympic mascots onto your backpack as an accessory. The rings bring me back to this time in our history, how united and excited we all were to be hosting this wondrous event. We had the opportunity to showcase the beauty of our country to the world. They were filled with wonder at the sight of Whistler’s breathtaking slopes, with awe at the diverse landscape and culture of Vancouver, and amazed by our people’s immense talent and character. My friends and I climb on these rings now, extremely diverse and individualistic even in our small group, and represent what Canada is to me: a unique, multi-cultural country that has the ability to unite in our common love of our nation and the life we live in it.

  This picture is one of my favorite pictures from my tip in grade 11 with my family to Whistler-Blackcomb in beautiful BC. This was a trip of a lifetime for me, everyone in my family had at one time or another been to this beatuful mountain accept for me. When we arrived and started skiing I was pushing boundaries in my life like I have never done before, as only ever skiing in Ontario. I was trying new things and pushing the limits everyday. This picture was taken on the second last day of our trip where my brother, my father and myself climbed Spanky's Ladder which is an iconic ski hiking destination in Whistler. The reason for the picture with my brother is that he suffers from asthma and hiking wasn't easy for him so I stuck with him all the way and we worked as a team to reach our destination. This picture means so much to me it demonstrates my love for my family, my love for winter and all it has to offer when so many dread it. It shows my happiness for trying new things. This trip taught me so much about myself in pushing the limits and do daring things. Winter is an integral part of Canadian culture and identity, that trip and hiking experience allowed me to be a part of Canadian culture and help guide me to be a better person. I will never forget it.

  There is no place I feel more alive than on the top of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. It is a remarkable feeling being so high yet still touching the solid ground. The moment I take my first line all my worries get left in the behind. The direction you take is your choice. You have total freedom. It is a playground like no other. It has been 8 years since I have lived there and I still dream about it all the time. This picture was taken on such a warm, sunny day that is pure bliss in my memory.
